Choosing equipment for scanning, you must determine the requirements according to the following main parameters:

  • approximate volume of scanning per day,
  • necessity of color scanning,
  • possibility to scan filed documents,
  • connection interface.

With the volume of scanning up to 200 pages if size A4 per day we can recommend document scanner of the initial level: scanner HP SCAN JET 5590 (L1910A) (document feeder DADF), scanner Epson GT-1500  (document feeder ADF).

These models are provided with automatic document feeders and designed to work with paper of standard density of 80 g/m2; they also have a tablet part, which enables them to scan filed documents.

With the volume of scanning from 500 sheets per day and more it is more expedient to use professional models of document scanners, which can scan documents in a wider range of paper densities. Models that can scan two-sided originals do this during one pass of a sheet.

Document scanners of the initial level of size A4 from the professional series: scanner Kodak i1120, scanner Fujitsu fi-5110C – they are recommended for loads up to 1000 sheets per day. Some models of size A4 for scanning filed documents have a built-in tablet part, or the tablet part can be delivered as a separate option. For example, models with tablet option: scanner Kodak i1220 (recommended load up to 1500 sheets per day, or with built-in tablet part - scanner Fujitsu fi-6230C  (recommended load up to 2000 sheets per day).

The usage of document scanners can be especially efficient when specialized software is used. Such solution in the form of scanning equipment and software makes it possible to order the document flow at the enterprise, create a user-friendly base of electronic documents with regulated access.
